The Road To The Oscars Icon Festival

Academy Award Nominations were announced today, and so it's time once again to icon the heck out of any and all moves receiving nominations. (Yes, even Norbit, if the mood strikes you.) ( cut for details )

Sadly, today we also heard the news abut the sudden death of Heath Ledger. As the Oscars always have an In Memoriam segment, so shall we as part of this. Please feel free to icon any of the projects Ledger was involved in.

If you recognize any of the icons in that banner or at that community, your icons or the icons of some of your favourite icon makers may be being hotlinked and reposted without their permission. I was going to write a big entry about why it's wrong to do this, but if you don't know by now, you're never going to learn. Please let your icon maker friends know. There is a post here at stop_plagiarism that is following the case, for those who would like more details.

The long and the short of it is that dealing with shit like this means everyone loses: icon makers have less time and inclination to make icons and, as a result, icon users don't get new icons as often.
